Flowcharts from LotusScript code

Unless somebody made the extra effort to use a state-of-the-art-tool to document the LotusScript used in an application understanding the Scripts can be quite an adventure. Add a mix of JavaScript and Java and you are in for a headache. Wouldn't it be nice if we could produce flowcharts from all these. Luckily with the release of Visustin 4.0 you can document LotusScript, Java, JavaScript, C#, VB.NET, Cobol and many more. The beginning of the SendToNext Routine (from the R7 Document library) looks like this:


The graphics can be exported to Visio, Powerpoint, Word etc. The trial version is free.

2 - Ah, somebody heard my plea (even if its too late). This is interesting because one of my very first blog posts, from last year, was about adapting another code flow chart tool for use with Lotuscript. Here's what I wrote then: http://www.lotusguru.com/lotusguru/LGBlog.nsf/d6plinks/RENO-6E94AC

I wonder how the mere existence of this tool could potentially change the Domino development game. Aside from the obvious benefits, it could also give some folks a reason to be even less concerned with code comments, or for that matter writing clean code.

Those out there that code for job security are certainly in trouble now, since to get around tools like this they probably have to code so even they can't understand what they did!
